Be aware that unlike appliances and other products, the caterer with the lowest price may NOT be the best value. Yes, price is important, but value is more important.

Venues like hotels, private and public clubs, and restaurants with private spaces will provide you with their catering. Once you select one of those venues, the catering will be part of the package.

Few will allow outside caterers, and if they do, there’s always an extra fee.

Small Mom and Pop Firms that are reasonably priced because the owners do lots of the work. Some have years of experience while others may be using your wedding to earn and learn. So, beware. And some may not be licensed or insured and operate illegally from their homes.

Firms with Specialties If you know you would love Paella, Kosher, Italian, Caribbean, Latin American, Asian then your best bet will be to look into who specialize in these types of foods. We can recommend those firms that will best suit your needs.

Mid-Scale Firms With middle-of-the-road pricing these firms offer versatility, building menus to best suit your needs with fair pricing. Some will bring the food in already prepared, while others will cook onsite. The later will cost more than the former.

Luxury Catering Firms If you are blessed with a liberal budget then look to those firms who have a reputation for gourmet foods with impeccable service. Yes, you’ll pay more, but your guests will be delighted.
